UFC 125: Resolution Predictions and Happy New Year

Well Happy New Year to all of you out there and I hope you had a fantabulous Christmas! I really really need to get back on it, been keeping up with the Muay Thai at Nova Forca but haven’t done weights or done any wrist rehab work in weeks, arrghh!

Site neglect aside, it’s been a great Christmas and I hope you’ve all enjoyed yours as much as I have, good times with family and friends is what Xmas is all about! Though due to the damn snow I’m still waiting on a few packages that were meant to arrive before Christmas!

Now, to bring in the New Year, Dana has what looks to be a supremely action packed show lined up for UFC 125: Resolution.

My first comment, is WHY is Mike Brown, ex WEC Featherweight Champ, on the pre-lim card?! Come on Dana what the hell?! Whatever you feel about him he has two wins over Uriah Faber… Ok mini-rant done, onto the main card:

Mike Brown, former WEC Featherweight Champ

Mike Brown, former WEC Featherweight Champ (Sherdog)

Clay Guida V Gomi – I really can’t call this one, I want Clay to win, because I think if he doesn’t, his UFC time will be shortly concluded.

Diaz V Dong Hyun Kim – I love the Diaz brothers (Nate more than Nick to be fair) but Kim has looked good recently and I think on his day he can pull it out of the bag. Still I have to back Nate here, he’s a warrior and can always find ways to work people.

Brandon Vera V Thiago Silva – The ‘Truth’ has returned and he looks better than ever, let’s see how he looks in the cage. A stunning prospect for a long time now he needs to start delivering. Silva is a maddog and a BJJ black belt, but for me he just doesn’t really bring enough, which is strange as on paper he has the whole package.

Leben V Stann – Stann is an ex WEC Champ but has suffered recently as he’s stepped into the big leagues. A classic fight of youth against experience, Leben is too wise and will find a way to get the victory.

Frankie Edgar V Gray Maynard – I have to go with Frankie here, the champ looks sharp, we’ve been told he’s had a good camp, and it’s all on the line now. WAR FRANKIE!

Also, there appears to be something strange in that Ion TV has a completely different set of pre-lim fights, including Phil Baroni, and Marcus Davis V Jeremy Stephens. Hmmm.

Anyway that’s enough from me, enjoy it!
